Vagli Sotto is located in the north east of Tuscany at the feet of the Apuan Alps, of the Tambura and Sumbra mountains and on the lakeside of the Vagli lake.
HOW TO REACH VAGLI:
From Milan: take the A1 motorway till Parma and then enter the Cisa A15 motorway. Exit at Aulla and drive along the main road n° 63 in direction of Fivizzano; after about 9 kms, at Gassano on the right, take the main road 445 and follow the road signs for Casola. When you reach Casola, follow the signs for Minucciano Gramolazzo Piazza al Serchio Camporgiano. After 4 kms you arrive at Poggio. Take the provincial road for Vagli; after another 8 kms, you’re arrived.
From Ventimiglia: take the motorway A10 to Genova and then the A12 to La Spezia. From there you take the A15 Cisa motorway and exit at Aulla. Keep going as described above.
For those coming from Venice, Bologna and Florence: take the A11 Firenze mare motorway, exit at Lucca and follow the road signs to Castelnuovo Garfagnana. When you reach Ponte a Moriano exit the main road that runs along the right bank of the river Serchio and take the provincial road Lodovica that runs along the left bank of the Serchio, an easier route. Along the way you will find the following towns: Borgo a Mozzano, Gallicano, Castelnuovo. Keep heading for Camporgiano. 8 kms past Castelnuovo you will find Poggio. On the left, straight after the small village, you will find the provincial road to Vagli.
From the Brennero you can choose between two routes: when you reach Modena, continue along the Bologna Firenze motorway; when you arrive in Florence take the A11 and exit at Lucca and keep going as described above. Otherwise, you can travel along the main road that goes from Modena to Pavullo in the Frignano area and then keep going in direction of Pievepelago. Then exit the main road and continue along the provincial road to Passo delle Radici. Keep going until you reach Castelnuovo Garfagnana and continue in direction of Camporgiano. 8 kms past Castelnuovo Garfagnana you will find Poggi. On the left, straight after the small village, you will find the provincial road to Vagli.
