The hotel ”delle Alpi“ is located in the heart of the park of the Apuan Alps and is the ideal place for spending pleasurable relaxing moments as well as for a holiday of touristic, environmental, naturalist and excursional interest, with many itineraries to choose amongst the most beautiful of the Apuan Alps: chestnut and beech-tree woods that arise on top of the wonderful surrounding mountain peaks, like Sumbra, Tambura, Roccandagia, Pisanino, all included in the Garfagnana Trekking itineraries. The hotel is a perfect starting point for embarking on trips along these paths.
In the Parco dell’Orecchiella, managed by the State Forest Rangers, you can visit the botanic garden and admire the local fauna, amongst which eagles, bears, deer and fallow deer, as well as many other animals that populate our mountain area. From the delightful nature to the wonders of the underground world, that is, the Grotta del Vento, very close and one of the most interesting caves of Europe. It is possible to cover three different itineraries, each one bearing distinct characteristics.
The hotel is 68 kms far from the beaches of Versilia and Cinque Terre. Lucca, Pisa and Florence are also nearby and represent the destination for artistic-cultural itineraries (it is advisable to reach these places by public transport, such as railway, ecc.)
The hotel lies very close to the banks of the Vagli Lake. You can take a boat for an excursion through the deep creeks where the ghost town lies covered by the waters from which it emerges once every ten years when the lake is drained. For those who love fishing, it is possible to fish upon purchase of a daily permit that only costs a few euros.
